Overview & Role

Azure Monitor is a comprehensive monitoring solution for applications, infrastructure, and networks in Azure and on-premises. It collects, analyzes, and acts on telemetry from your cloud and on-premises environments, providing full observability across your applications and infrastructure. Payload Size: Individual log entries typically range from a few bytes to several KB. Metrics are usually smaller.

Processing Latency: Near real-time, typically 30 seconds to 2 minutes for data to become queryable after ingestion. For critical alerts, latency can be lower (e.g., 10-30 seconds).
